Check out this fab prize I won from Beauty21.co.uk!! x

As you all know I've been quite ill recently but I was cheered up no end when the postman arrived with a suprise parcel for me. Undettered by the massive amount of sellotape on the box, I managed to hack in to the box and was shocked to see these amazing goodies!

I absolutely love beauty21.co.uk - a site I discovered through Mums Like You  - it's the perfect site for all your beauty needs. They sell everything from St Tropez to haircare aswell as the best cosmetic brands.

My make up bag was definitely due an update - my mascara was well past it's sell by date so I was pleased to see this fab Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara was part of the prize.

Instead of the usual brush type applicator, it has a 'zero clump' hot pink lash comb. Perfect for separating each individual lash. I absolutely love it - it gave me just the look I like to go for - dark and defined but not false. 10 out of 10!

Next thing to try was the Elizabeth Arden Bronzer Powder which comes with a  fab little bronzer brush - perfect for fitting in your bag for a night out. I love the cute flower pattern on the bronzer and the fact that it comes with a mirror. I've always struggled to find a decent bronzer. In the past I have always bought bronzing pearls which has always ended up in  a make up disaster - bronzing pearls crushed in to the carpet is not easy to clean! I was very eager to try this powder and I wasn't disappointed with the outcome. A perfect natural looking tan. I'll defintely be stocking up on this one!

Finally, the lipgloss by my absolute favourite brand - Benefit. This Benefit - The Gloss in Corsage looked like it was going to be too dark for my pale complexion but I decided to give it a try and I have used it everyday since! It's my new make-up 'must have'. Not only is it a great lasting gloss and a natural looking colour - it leaves my lips feeling really soft. I think I may have to purchase a few more of these.

So there you have it the perfect prize that left me with a lovely natural looking look.

Why not head over to beauty21 now for all your beauty needs. With a hassle free delivery service and all your favourite products delivered straight to your door - what more could you ask for? How about 3 for £10 on selected items? Yep - I'm already there! Enjoy it girls! x

Trip to the hospital : (

Sorry I haven't been around this week. I've been really ill. Thought I could 'manage on' but I finally gave in yesterday and went to the Health Centre.

I haven't felt 100% for a few weeks and I'd already had a course of antibiotics for sinusitis but I never really got better properly and developed a really horrible hacking cough. I left it and left it but when I saw blood coming up I headed to the doc.

The doctor at the Health Centre sent me to the labour ward - I wasn't expecting to get there so soon! They checked me out and diagnosed a severe chest infection so now I have more antibiotics and I'm off work until Tuesday.

One good thing did come out of it though - I managed to get a sneaky peak of one of the water birth rooms. Check out the pics I took on my mobile (I've cobbled them together!)

It looks really nice - even bigger than the room I had Mister A in. I can't wait now. 21 weeks to go! x

I felt baby move!!

I felt baby moving for the first time this week and it's not stopped since. It tends to happen more at night but I love it. Chris is jealous because he can't feel it but we do all listen to the heartbeat together (Mister A too) it's really strong and I can find it straight away now. Mister A says it sounds like a train!

Happy Mother's Day

I've had such a great day today. I was woken up to flowers and a homemade card from Mister A. I had breakfast in bed and lunch made for me (a sausage sandwich - with what I can only describe as the worlds thinest sausages!) and I'm just waiting for my slow cooked gammon to be served - thank you Chris! A great end to a very busy and tiring week.

I ended up working 15 hours solid on Wednesday - 8am til 1am - I was sooo tired but had to get up again and start at 7am. By Thursday night I was a mess - I ended up
crying for no reason! It was worth it - I managed to get everything done perfectly and impress my boss - but i won't be doing it ever again!

I went to see my mum too - she was asking Mister A if he'd got me a present for Mother's Day. He said "Yes, flowers" when Mum asked what kind of flowers they were he replied "Tesco's!" Me and Mum we're crying laughing!

When I got back I finally forced Chris to get up in the loft and dig out my old maternity clothes. I have to say I didn't realise quite how unfashionable I was in 2006! There's probably 2 tops and a dress that I can wear now but I have no trousers or jeans from last time - what the hell was I parading round in? Maternity knickers? Very strange! Oh well it looks like it's time to go shopping again!

Loving my new maternity wardrobe x

Mamas and Papas is officially my new favourite shop - I spent my entire lunch hour there on Friday. I could spend thousands of pounds in there, it's so good. Everything is amazing - there's not one item that I wouldn't buy. Their maternity range is great, you can find something for every occasion and as for the baby stuff - it's a good job we don't know what we're having yet as I would have happily spent our mortgage payment on cute little baby outfits and nursery decoration. Ssssh don't tell Chris!

I bought some great stuff, some jeans and a couple of tops (one of which I plan to wear as a dress but only 'cause I'm so short). I may have to have the slim maternity jeans I bought surgically removed because I can't bear to take them off - they are sooooo comfy and a great fit. It's not often you find a great pair of maternity jeans - last time I had these massive over bump jeans that fell down with each step!

I've also found this great site called Polyvore where you can make bundles of products you like - check out my first attempt with some of my favourite Mamas & Papas items..

Big Bump

Just a quick post tonight to let you know that my bump is officially out!  I have had to dig out my old maternity clothes and of course purchase some lovely new items! I'm going to start posting some maternity fashion this week so you can see how to mix and match some key pieces. Watch this space! x

Sneezey wee-zy!

Ok - I did say that this was a 'warts 'n all' look at pregnancy so here I am to tell you about the dark side.

As you know I'm sick with flu, sneezing and coughing etc etc. But now my body has decided that no matter where I am, home or away, full bladder or not - I will let a tiny bit of wee out whenever I sneeze.

How cruel is that!?? I went to the doctors before and on my way way to the car - aaaaacccccchhhhhhhhhoooooooo - followed by... a tiny wee! Again!

The joys of motherhood!! Not only will I have to carry emergency pants for Mister A - I'd better have some of my own too!!

Sick : (

I've been in bed all weekend. I'm full of cold and I've got a really chesty cough. The trip to the medicine cupboard was unsuccessful (everything contains some kind of alcohol!) so I've just had paracetamol. My glands are like two tennis balls on the side of my neck so I feel like I can't breath properly and that's making me gag! Nice!

Not sure if I'll make it in to work tomorrow - might call NHS direct - see if there is anything that I can take?!

The pillow was amazing - you have to get one of these!

As you know I've been feeling uncomfortable and haven't slept too well as my my bump has started to grow. Last night was my first 'DreamGenii' night and I have to say it was fabulous!! I was comfy straight away and dropped right off - even forgetting to eat my pancakes!

It's great because it gives support for your tummy your back and your legs and it's not as big as it looks so there's still plenty of room in the bed. Chris thinks it's great because I didn't wake him up once last night with my usual tossing and turning - a pregnancy must have I'd say - I can't wait to go to bed now!

12 Week Scan! (well 13 to be precise!) x

I am sooooooooo happy to tell you all that my scan yesterday went very well. Baby is doing great, all looked well and my dates were brought forward so I have a new due date of 22nd August.

I finally told work today - so it's been hugs all round. Everyone was really nice. It's great that I can finally relax and not worry about covering up my ever expanding bump!

I was going to end there but I can't submit a post without having my usual moan! I can't really sleep properly at the moment so I ordered a Dream Genii pillow. It arrived today so I'll report back in my next post - fingers crossed it's the miracle I've been waiting for! x

Big Day Tomorrow!!

Tomorrow we will finally get to see baby no. 2 for the first time - we can't wait - best Valentine's present ever!

It's week 12 now and I've been really good - I've taken my Pregnacare plus tablets everyday. I would recommend them to you mums-to-be. I have to say I did start off just taking regular folic acid but I wasn't feeling 100% as soon as I swapped to the Pregnacare I seemed to perk up!

Although I have felt awful this week, I had a 48 hour headache and had to stay in bed most of yesterday. It eased off in the evening so I gave my mum and dad a lift in to town to get drunk. I promised them a lift home too but I stayed up 'til 1am and they hadn't called. When I rang my dad he was a little worse for wear but they had made it home without 'Daughter Taxi' - can't believe they didn't call!! Oh how the roles have reversed!!

Swimming

I decided to take Mister A swimming today as a treat. I have to say I was worried it would be a bit of a stress but he was really good. He's getting quite good now - he wears his armbands but today was the first time he actually managed to raise his legs high enough to make a splash when he was kicking. He was really funny - any time I asked him a question he would respond 'Yes Sir!' I do not know where he has got that one from!

Mister A and I listened to the baby's heartbeat this morning too and then we compared it with his - he was so interested in what he could hear and said it sounded like a train. When I asked him whether he thought he was going to get a brother or a sister he said 'Five babies!' Hopefully this is not a premonition!!

I've heard baby x

I've had the most amazing few days - starting with Friday night when I managed to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time. I bought an Angelsounds Doppler from Amazon over a week ago and although I had a little listen almost every night - this is the first time I picked the little bean up. I was relieved to hear the racing heart because you do get paranoid that something is wrong and it's horrible that you have no way of knowing what's going on until you have your 12 week scan. I can't take the smile of my face. (If you want to get yourself an Angelsounds doppler you can scroll down and use the link below in 'My Favourites' x)

We've been out for lunch today as part of Mister A's birthday celebrations - he finally got to eat the 'monkey cake' we bought him - he's been trying to get his hands on it all week. The lady in the restaurant brought it over and he blew his candles out - he then preceded to pull the cake towards him and take a massive bite out of the side of it!! Like he hadn't eaten for months...

He's been such a good boy today. I'm very proud of him. Bless him x

Amazing new bra!

Firstly,  I have to say a big Happy Birthday to my little boy Mister A who was 3 yesterday - we had a fab day out and even manged to do a bit of 10 pin bowling. I'm ashamed to say that Chris and I lost to our dear son by 10 points!! We weren't even letting him win we are just completely rubbish!!

Mister A has been hilarious this past week- he's started asking for extra food for the baby in his tummy - even at nursery! He never fails to make me smile.

I also wanted to say, sorry for neglecting the blog this week. I haven't been able to stop shopping! Don't worry though - I'm back now and I can't wait to tell you about my amazing new bra - all pregnant mums must get one of these in every colour!!

I told you I was struggling with with my boobs - I was wearing my normal bras even though I know your not supposed to wear wired bras. Anyway I got this new bra by Emma Jane - it is sooooooooo soft and amazingly comfy. I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting much support from a non-wired bra but this one has 2 layers of fabric in the moulded cups to give extra support. I got the nude coloured version but it's also available in black and white. It's my maternity must have and I'll definetely be buying more!

nursing wear at www.emma-jane.com)

Booking In...

We had to wait almost an hour before we were seen by the midwife but I'm happy to say we are all 'booked in'!

My wee pot was fine, they took about a litre of blood and we talked about my medical history. I said I was concerned that last time my placenta was retained after I gave birth and I lost 6 pints of blood but the midwife explained that they wouldn't allow that to happen again and that when I do go into labour I will be put on a drip and given Oxytocin. I feel a lot better about everything now.

We also talked about the my back - the past few days I've been in agony with sciatica. I can't put my right foot on the ground and I end up stuck in the strangest positions unable to move for the pain. Hopefully I'll be referred to the physiotherapist and they'll be able to help me - I'm only 9 weeks and the moaning is constant! Imagine what I'll be like by week 39!!

Booking In Appointment

I'm really excited this morning because I'm off to the hospital for my booking-in appointment. I've wee'd in a pot and I'm ready to go! It's all starting to feel real now. Full report on my return x

Daddy's Baby!

It's been a funny old week - the tiredness is starting to make me really grumpy now and the sickness just won't go away. It's weeks 8-9 so hopefully it won't last much longer - I should be headed for the 'blooming' stage at week 12! It seems a long way off at the moment - what with the greasy hair, spots and for some reason really dry hands - the darker side of pregnancy!

Mister A has taken to kissing the baby (mummy's tummy) before he goes to sleep at night although yesterday he said "Daddy, lift your top up - I want to kiss the baby" Chris was not impressed - I however, was rolling around on the floor in stitches - well his bump is bigger than mine!!

I've started looking at baby things already - I have got most things from when Mister A was born but we had borrowed a crib last time so I have been looking online. My favourite was the Mothercare Swinging Crib in Birch - at £75.00 it's not cheap but it is great quality.
Instead of impulse buying as usual, I decided to search for it on the net and I came across this fantastic site called Preloved. It's a great site where you can sell things for free. I came across the Mothercare crib that I had been looking for, locally, for only £20!! I sent a message to Caroline - the lovely lady that was selling the crib - she sent me pictures and explained that it had only been used for 4 months. Fantastic! I love a bargain, I braved the snow to go and collect it after work and I'm very impressed by the site. Check it out before you buy anywhere else x

Baby Brain

I've been to the doctors this afternoon as I keep getting migranes. I would usually take Migraleve but I can't now that I'm pregnant. He's prescribed a different type of pain killer that is safe for the baby.

Literally 10 minutes after I got back I got the usual string of lights in my left eye and had to go and lie down for 2 hours in the dark.

When I finally got up, I was (as usual) really hungry but baby brain has kicked in - I put oil in the griddle, turned up the hob to high and left it for 10 minutes. When I went back to the kitchen it was full of thick grey smoke - I had to open all the windows and doors to let it escape but not before inhaling a huge breath of it.

Feeling really sick and sorry for myself now - gonna head up to bed with my carbonated lung - I'll stop off for a sick break too on the way up.

Night all!

Manic Monday!

Today was the longest day in work ever! I was praying for more snow overnight so that we could have another snow day!!

Chris made me a lovely lunch - he'd even cut heart shapes in to the slices of cheese - how romantic is that. It was divine so thank you Christophe, I can't wait to see what's on tomorrows menu!

I'm constantly thinking that everyone knows my baby secret! My friend from work, Emma, was quizzing me about when I plan to have my next baby. I felt awful lying to her and covering up my baby news - I told her I wasn't sure because I want to further my career but I don't want a massive age gap between my children. I swear she's on to me - my boobs are so big and my tummy is expanding daily - I'm convincing people I over did it at Christmas but I'm not sure how long that will last!

I didn't feel too nauseous today but i'm not sure if that was because I managed to nibble all day long?! Surely this intense hunger can't last too much longer? Help! x
