This Summer's MUST HAVE cover up - The Kimono - Top 10 under £25

Right, hands up - who is living in fear that now the sun is starting to make an appearance?

No? Not owning up? Well I am. Don't get me wrong, I love the warm weather but my 'bikini body' isn't exactly going to plan. The diet is always starting 'next week' and my gym subscription flutters out of my bank account despite my 2 month absence. For me, Winter's been fab - I've wrapped myself up in chunky knits and hidden my wobbly bits under my winter woolies. But what now?

The suns coming out (gasp) and I can't just hide in the shadows til it goes away. So what's the plan? I can't be seen in my drab black cardi now that we're almost in to summer.

Well don't worry ladies, I have the answer...

It's totally time to get yourself a kimono.

A kimono? Yes I know what some of you are thinking...

but no... obviously I am not suggesting that you lose your winter wardrobe and don traditional Japanese dress for the summer - that would just be silly - although a great cover up if you do get desperate!

No... instead I am hear to tell you about this seasons must have item - THE KIMONO STYLE JACKET  - a lightweight cover up that will keep you looking stylish right though the summer months. Perfect if you want to wear a vest top but aren't comfortable flashing the flesh.

Trust me,a kimono is the answer to all of our prayers. It's light, it covers the arms and you can wear it for almost any occasion - it'll keep you looking on trend even if - like me - you've still got a mummy tummy despite giving birth alomost 3 years ago!

Pack one in your suitcase for ultimate versatility - kimono's are perfect as a poolside cover up or as a lightweight jacket for those cool nights at the bar.

And, as I know you lazy lot hate searching around for you're own bargain buys, I've picked my top 10 favourites and they're all under £25...

Matalan: Cheap Holiday Clothes For the Kids

As you know I'm a lover of fashion but I'm also a lover of bargains too. My mum regularly laughs at the fact that I have a maximum amount that I'll spend on any one item - you won't find me spending £60 on a pair of shoes - what a waste - I'd expect at least 4 pairs for that! In fact, most of my purchases are all sale buys, for the kids I buy a season ahead. At the end of last Summer - just after Little E was born, I was already buying the clothes that she's wearing now. All in perfect condition, just end of the season stuff. Baby clothes can be expensive and while they are so young, clothes only last a couple of months before they end up in the loft so it seems daft to go mad buying designer labels. Now that the Summers here and a holiday is planned, I need to make sure that we can all look great on a budget.

Yesterday I hit my local Matalan store, with a £50 voucher to spend I wasn't sure exactly how many items I could get but I was surprised by how far the money went. Take a look at what I bought...

For Little E...
Navy Spot Summer Dress £6.00
Multi Colour Tiered Swimsuit £6.00

3 Piece Sundress Set £8.00
Mini Nautical Romper £6.00

and for Mister A...
2 Piece Brazil Football Set £5.00
3 Pack of Surf Vests £5.00
2 pack Swim Shorts £5.00

Boys Short Sleeved Stripe Shirt £7.00

All of that for just £49!!! I was amazed but, as per, I couldn't leave the store without finding a little gem of a bargain for myself. I managed to get these Summer sandals for just £2 in the sale!

So many great pieces and all really great value. We do shop at Matalan a lot and the clothes wash well and last too - there aren't many places you can get all of that for such a great price. We'll be heading back for more through the Summer - well it's only fair - I need holiday clothes too!

Disclosure: I received a £50 voucher from Matalan to enable me to post this feature.

Summer Linen - Maternity Style

Over the past couple of weeks I've been sporting the contents of my latest Pretty Pregnant parcel - some fabulous linen trousers by Queen Mum.

I have to say I've never been confident enough to wear linen trousers before - in fact I don't think I'd even tried a pair on until these arrived!

I really wasn't sure what to expect because sometimes linen pants can cling to all the wrong places even when you haven't got a bump - so how would my ever expanding lower half look it these?

Well I have to tell you these over the bump linens are sooo comfy and they look fabulous. The fit is great and because of the stretchy over bump panel they don't cut in anywhere like other trousers. I am only 5ft 3 so I did have to turn up the bottoms but that actually added to the look. I even took them to London with me for the Gurgles and they kept me cool in the blazing heat!

I've been wearing them with my favourite gladiators and dress them up or down with different coloured tops depending on the occasion. They are a fabulous addition to my maternity wardrobe and they even wash well - something my mum tells me can be quite an issue!

And the great news is they're available in 4 colours and they are currently 30% off at Pretty Pregnant!
